#BostonStrong
Yesterday was an awful day in the city of Boston. We lost 2 Firefighters in the line of duty. Lt. Ed Walsh and firefighter Michael Kennedy, both of Engine 33, were first responders last April 15th. Their fire house is on the famous corner of Hereford and Boylston. Both men heroically and selflessly ran into a burning building to save strangers and they paid the ultimate sacrifice. It certainly takes a special breed of person to do what they do everyday. This tragedy hit especially close to home, as my brother is a firefighter. I can’t imagine what their families are going through and my thoughts and prayers go out to them.
Firefighter Michael Kennedy was supposed to run the Boston Marathon with us on April 21st. He was chosen among many first responders for that coveted bib. In 25 days when we turn onto Boylston Street, and pass by the fire house, we will not only remember the events of April 15th but of 2 brave heroes who gave their lives to protect the city of Boston!
